Michael Phelps is the man with the GOLD! After winning the the gold with his teammates in the 4×200 freestyle relay Phelps became the all team leader of Olympians with medals with a staggering 19 medallions.

The previous record holder was Larisa Latynina, a gymnast from the Soviet Union who last won gold in 1964 with a total of 18 medals.

But it’s still not over for Phelps as he can pull in a couple more medals depending on the outcome so stay tuned.

Phelps also holds the all-time record for most gold Olympic medals (15), and the record for most gold medals in individual events (9).

And to think people were giving him a hard time for coming in 4th place in the early event.
