Dee-1 has been on the radar since the 2 Cent fam sent me his “No Applause” video and I’ve been keeping an eye on his progress ever since. It didn’t take long after that for him to start making a buzz online when his “Jay, 50, & Weezy” video dropped (see below) it was picked up by just about every media outlet online. This week Dee-1 released his I Hope They Hear Me Vol 2 and after giving it a good deal of spins I figured it was time to get this thing up for the people who may of never heard of the New Orleans MC, or might be snoozing.

I got introduced to Dee-1 last month and became an instant fan. Not the best rapper out there is but he is a great up and comer. Compared to the “racks and racks” and “going steady’s” on the radio and misc mixtapes, dude is the truth. But i have this bad habit of comparing almost every new rapper to J. Cole, or at least Big Sean. and when they fall short i just listen to them here and there and don’t follow them as much. i downloaded I Hope They Hear Me 1.5 as i was listening to the 2nd song my cousin played for me and listened to it on my 7 hr drive home and determined he still had some growing to do but hes definitely off to a good start
