Here’s yet another reason for people to hate the internet bully that is Google. Imagine logging into your blog only to find out that you no longer have a blog anymore because it’s been deleted. That’s the story for tons of music bloggers this week after Blogger (Google’s blogging software) has went on a tirade deleting hundreds of music blogs from it’s directory. There were no warnings they just swarmed in like a rouge swat team shooting first and asking questions later. Now while this may be quite understandable for those certain sites that only posted album leaks and full cd streams and no relevant content, it left quite a horrible taste in the mouths of bloggers who rarely did such things. In fact some of the sites deleted never posted links to whole albums or even illegal mp3′s for that matter, some posted music videos that Blogger deemed violated their terms and free mixtapes which apparently both record company’s and sites like Blogger still have no clue on how to differentiate from copyrighted material.
If your site has yet to be deleted and you are hosted on Blogger consider this a warning, it’s coming. The first thing you want to do is back up your blog. If you want to keep your blog alive I strongly suggest hosting your own blog. That means buying your name & hosting from Godaddy or anywhere and then hosting your blog on your own server this way you are in complete control. There are bloggers who have lost over 5 year of material which really sucks. There is some hope if your account has been deleted. Below I have included a few links from around the web that might help you get your content back. Also if your blog is still live there are links for tips on how to back it up and export it to your own hosted blog.
Remember if your site has blogspot.com in it this means you. If you post music or video chances are high you will be deleted soon. Good Luck and remember to share this with your fellow Blogspot bloggers! Links below.

Wow. This is pretty unreal. I would be furious and you know what nothing you could do about it. What are you gonna pick a fight with google?
Umm isnt blogger owned by Google. I am glad I switched from that or I would be worried.

^Blogger is definitely owned by Google. Check those copyrights on the bottom of the site.

they also dropped legitimate sites not hosted on blogger completely from search and keywords. google is on the rampage. they knocked my site from page 2 to completely off the map for the search term hip hop news. I own my url and have it hosted on private servers. it seems they are only attacking hip hop and rap blogs. i have friends that post on rock blogs the same way and they were not touched.
.-= hip hop news´s last blog ..Yelawolf “I Wish” the Remix ft. CyHi Da Prynce and Pill =-.
